作为一个在互联网上进行数据交换的国际标准,XML语言扮演着越来越重要的作用.伴随着XML语言的广泛使用,XML文档的数量也日益增多.为了有效地存储这些文档,设计了一个XML数据存储模型.这个模型是以DOM模型为基础来存储和更新XML数据;以XPath语言为基础来检索XML数据;采用关系数据库作为其底层的数据存储方式;利用持久化DOM技术实现.此模型充分利用了关系数据库的成熟技术,可以在不影响原数据库正常使用的基础上,把普通关系数据库扩展成XML数据库.

As an international standard of data exchange over Internet, XML has played an increasing important role, With using XML language widely, there exists a steady increse in the amounts of XML documents. For storing XML documents efficiently, a XML data-storing model had been designed. In the model, XML data are stored and updated based on DOM. XML data are queried based on Xpath language. Traditional relation database systems are used as under-layer data storing approach by employed persistent DOM technique, The model, making use of mature relational database technique adequately, can extend a general relational database system into a XML database without disturbing the daily works of the relational databa.
