经权之道是中国古代司法中非常重要的一种修辞性策略,体现在执法、审讯、断案、判决等整个司法过程之中,“经”指法律原则,“权”指变通,即古代司法的判决结果不仅要根据律令格式的规定,还要根据具体案件的具体情况作出变通。

The way of rule and adaptability is one of a significant rhetoric tactics in Chinese ancient judicature, which embodies the entire judicial process of execution, trial and adjudication. ＂Rule＂ is the principles, ＂adaptability＂ the flexibility. The judicial result will not be merely based on the laws and rules, and will make adaptability in a given situation.
