PDM作为CAD/CAM技术的进一步发展,不仅将改善原有的企业管理体系,也将做到CAD,CAM以及CAE,CAPP的真正集成化管理,发挥并行设计模式的优点。利用产品数据管理(PDM)系统实现对工程数据的管理和操作,形成基于CAD而独立于CAD的信息数据库/知识库,从而为后续基于特征建模的CAPP,CAM等系统提供完整可靠的设计和制造信息。实施PDM技术的关键是实现产品的结构与配置管理。通过它创建产品零件结构树,实现对产品零部件的管理和操作。

Form the database of information independent of CAD/knowledge base of CAD. Thus offer the reliable design and manufacture information intactly when CAPP,CAM based on characteristic modeling. The key of implementing PDM technology is product structure of realizing the products and configuration management. Through to the product structure and management that disposes, establish products part structure tree, realize the control over spare part of the products and operation.
