摘要
作为传统宗法家庭序列中一种身份的厘定,“长房长孙”承担着无法推卸的责任和义务,并由此形成了其怯懦、忍让、中庸的性格。高觉新、祁瑞宣以长房长孙的相同身份分别成为《家》和《四世同堂》的文化思考载体,他们具有卑柔软弱、双重人格、自我牺牲的文化性格,同时又裂变出反抗的因子,在黑暗的宗法王国中放生力量。
As stipulated by traditional patriarch family alignment, eldest sons are expected to undertake whole family's responsibilities and obligations that they should by no means shirk. Consequently, eldest sons normally tend to be timid and overcautious, tolerant and opt for the golden mean. Gao Jue-xin (the eldest son in Family) and Qi Rui-xuan (the eldest son in Four Generation) are the cases in point. As conveyors for cultural thinking, they both bear the cultural nature of humbleness and feebleness, dualpersonality and self- devotion. Nevertheless, their spirit of revolt emerges from the nature and generates power in the dark patriarch kingdom.
