This paper analyses the altitude ratio of a celestial body in its diurnal apparent motion, puts forward the characteristics of altitude observation in different sighting opportunities, and gives the altitude ratio exttremun using curves and graphs. Therefore, mariners can fully understand the rules of diurnal apparent motion, and can be guided in their future observations.
