The Edible Woman, Atwood＇s fast published novel, describes the existence dilemma of the Canadian modem women, especially those intellectual women. This paper tends to analyze the text, and to illustrate the inner journey of the protagonist, who realizes the danger of losing her true self, and manages to seek and keep it , and eventually she gets out of the dilemma and chooses to face the social reality with an optimistic attitude.
