Aspects and Examples of Hot-Strip-Mill Modernization

对产品质量和生产成本日益严格的要求,是热轧技术改造的推动力。认真研究现有设备条件、工艺限制环节、操作制度和挖潜可能,是实施优化改造、满足市场需求的基础。以3个热轧改造项目为例介绍了不同改造方案及结果。

The continually increasing demands placed on product quality and lower-cost production is the driving force behind equipment and operational improvements in hot rolling. A careful investigation of existing mill equipment, bottlenecks, operating practices and the ＂hidden potential＂ of existing facilities is the basis for the implementation of optimized modernization steps to allow producers to meet the changing market demands. Three project examples carried out by VOEST-ALPINE Industrieanlagenbau （VAI） are outlined in this paper which illustrate various hot-strip-mill-modernization approaches and the results.
