Basic education in England has been improved rapidly since the ruling of Blair's government, which has a close relationship with the Labour's education policy-the number one priority. After Tony Blair won the election for the third time in 2005,Department for Education and Skills published The White Paper:Higher Standards,Better Schools for All-more choice for parents and pupils. British education enters into a new era of innovation. This paper analyses the background for the publishing of the White Paper and explores the new policies,plans for further developing British basic education,and finally makes some brief remarks on Chinese basic education.
