英语倍数的表达方式比较复杂多样。以英语作为母语的人有时也为复杂的倍数关系感到头疼。一些学者对某些倍数表达方式的理解和翻译也莫衷一是。英语倍数的表达方式有其自身的特点,在厘清各种常见的英语倍数表达方式的基础上,深入探讨“n times+比较级”这种表达法汉译时的差异,对研究英语倍数的表达与汉译有十分重要的意义。

The Expression of English multiple is not only complicated, but also multiplex. People who speak English as their native language sometimes feel quite confused about the complicated forms of expression. Even some scholars often disagree with each other about how to understand an expression of English multiple or how to translate it properly into Chinese. The author finds, after making a careful and intensive research, that English multiple has its own characteristics though it has a lot of forms of expression. In this essay, the author is trying to make a discrimination in some common ways of English multiple expression and in an attempt to raise a discussion on how to translate an English multiple, especially the expression of ＂n times ＋ comparative degree＂, into a Chinese one.
