This paper briefly introduces the changes of entries and definitions in The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary 5th Edition.It outlines the principles of ubiquity,stability and rationality in adding new entries and definitions and also categorizes them in terms of meaning and source.It also explains the principles of deleting the entries which are too archaic,obsolete,uncommon,or dialectal.
