摘要
我国是举世无双的外语教学大国,而占国土60%之民族地区的外语教学却长期受到忽视,这对国家的发展极为不利。本文将分三部分论述发展民族地区外语教学的必要性、可能性、特点与对策;从学术角度呼吁政府及业界人士予以重视。
China has the largest foreign langnage-teaching program in the world. Yet, in 60% of its minority areas, foreign language teaching has been ignored or neglected, retarding the economic development of those areas. This paper discusses in three sections the necessity and potential of FLT in these areas, describes its present features and suggests some practical strategies of developing FLT program in minority areas, thus bringing this issue to the attention of both the government and educational commissions.
