On Teaching Foreign Students Ancient Chinese

现今留学生古代汉语课的教学目的和要求过高,教学内容庞杂,故而要适当降低难度,对教学内容进行量化,教材的编写要立足于留学生的语言背景和学习现代汉语的需要,在课堂教学中应实施诵读法。

The present teaching purpose and requirements of Ancient Chinese for foreign students in China are too high and the teaching contents are too many and complicated. Therefore, it＇s better to lower the degree of difficulty and regulates the contents that the students should master. The compilation of textbooks for foreign students should be based on their language background and needs for learning Modern Chinese. In classroom teaching, the recitation should be widely put in practice.
