从《晋书》看唐代的《世说新语》接受

On the Acceptance of Shi Shuo Xin Yu in Tang Dynasty from Jin Shu

唐修《晋书》采用《世说》入史是中国文化史上一个著名的公案,其褒贬毁誉蕴涵着丰富的文化意义。本文从接受史角度入手,在取舍与剪裁、统整与编排、订补与训释、赞润与篡改等四个方面,详细梳理《晋书》对《世说》的采撰实况,认为唐代史臣基本上是把《世说》作为一般史料来看待和处理的,其采撰行为之所以引起如此巨大的反响,恰好说明《世说》在唐代业已成为一部知识分子喜闻乐见的通俗经典。

It is a famous controversial issue that Jin Shu compiled in Tang Dynasty adopted Shi Shuo directly as historical books so that its comments are a mixture of praise and stricture. From the angle of accepted history, this paper-straightens out in detail the actual selection, adoption, and compilation of Shi Shuo in Jin Shu in four aspects ： selection and rejection, integration and arrangement, revision and interpretation, commendation and falsification. The paper reaches the conclusion that the historiographers in Tang Dynasty treated and handled Shi Shuo as ordinary historical materials. The unexpected responses evoked by their behavior of collection and compilation proves that Shi Shuo had become a popular classic loved by intellectuals at that time.
