括号悖论和“的X”的语感——“以‘的’为核心的DP结构”疑难求解

Revisiting the de-X structure: The bracketing paradox and linguistic intuition

提要本文对“以‘的’为核心的DP结构”一文中的疑点进行了分析讨论,认为该文作者运用括号悖论来证明“的书”形式是汉语中的句法成分这一做法是南辕北辙,该文作者运用括号悖论对“张三的书”的分析也是错误的;该文作者的实际话语生成同“的X”的语感也是背离的,因此,“以‘的’为核心的DP结构”一文没有任何说服力。

This paper presents a critical review of the article “A DP structure headed by de”. In the said article, the author tries to show from the perspective of the bracketing paradox that the construction “de shu” (的书) is a syntactic construct in Chinese. It is argued that the author's method fails to serve his purpose. His analysis of “Zhangsan de shu” (张三的书) in terms of the bracketing paradox is incorrect, and the data concerning this construction depart from the linguistic intuition he claims to have of “de X”. It is concluded that the author's analysis is far from being convincing.
