摘要
牛的肉用指数(活重kg/体高cm,BPI)是一区分役用型牛与肉用型牛的易测指标,将役牛转化为肉用型牛,其成年公牛BPI应达5.6以上,成年母牛平均达到4以上,这即是“由役转肉”转化成功的“转折点”。黄牛品种内存在BPI类型的多样性,这为选优转化提供了依据。影响牛的BPI因素包括品种(类型)、饲养条件、年龄和性别等。根据实际情况本文提出了公母牛(黄牛)BPI的年龄校正系数,按BPI选牛,可以提早到1~2岁。
Beef performance index (BPI) for cattle (Weight (kg)/Height (cm) Ratio) is an easy examining measure. In order to improve the draft-type cattle breed into the beef-type breed, the beef performance index(BPI) should be over 5. 6 kg/cm for mature bulls and 4. 0 kg/cm for mature cows. Within the Chinese yellow cattle breeds (populations), there is a diversity of BPI-types. The factors affecting the BPI include breed (biological type), feeding and management, sex and age etc.
