A New View on the Relations between Difference and Contradiction

差异论与矛盾论是从不同角度展开的两种认识世界的方法,各有各的长处,不能用一种否定另一种。两者之间不能只用矛盾观来看待差异,也可以用差异观来看待矛盾。差异与矛盾不在同一思维层面,关系十分复杂。研究差异问题,必须突破传统的矛盾论思维方法,才可能与时俱进。

The theory of difference and the theory of contradiction are two methods of recognizing the world from different angles, they have their respective advantages. We can＇t replace one with the other, can＇t deal with a difference only in the view of contradiction and can＇t deal with a contradiction only in the view of difference. They are not on the same level of thinking, their relationship is very complicated. To study the problem of difference, we must break through traditional method of thinking of the theory of contradiction.
