Inheriting the Past and Ushering in the Future and Making A Breakthrough——A Deliberate Thought on Gu Kuang's Poems and Essays

处于盛唐与中唐这个峰谷时期的顾况,既有此时文人普遍性的理念和共性,更具有鲜明的个性特征,这就是他具有承先启后、探新求奇的艺术追求和审美风貌。该文通过顾况诗文文本的实际,从他诗文理论的构建、题材内容的取向、探索、造诣等方面加以阐述,给他在文学史上的地位作客观的表述与评价。

Gu Kuang, a man of letters living in the time of Tang Dynasty of its prosperity, had not only the common ideas of his contemporaries, but also the distinctive and individual personality, making his artistic pursuit and appreciation of beauty characterized by inheriting the past and ushering in the future and by starting new and unconventional ideas. This paper, by exploring textual achievements of Gu＇s poems and essays, makes a detailed statement of poetic theory construction, selection of topic and content, exploration of artistic forms, and achievements of language art. It then makes a further analysis of contributing factors of his distinctive style and features and also makes an objec- tive evaluation of Gu in China＇s literary history.
