任意性是语言的根本属性,但这种任意性原则不是绝对的。语言意义和形式关系的象似性在语音、词汇、句法及语篇层次都存在。基于语篇的特点和人们的认知心理,连贯的叙事语篇通常遵循时间象似性、空间象似性和焦点象似性三个原则。

Arbitrariness was regarded as a fundamental principle in linguistics. However, this principle is not regarded as absolute for there exists iconicity in phonological, lexical and syntactical levels. Based on the textual characteristics and cognition, a cohesive text usually follows the three rules of time iconicity, space iconicity and focus iconicity.
