On Zhang Jian's Ecological Outlook

张謇在兴办实业、规划城市的过程中高度重视人与自然的和谐。从其对南通城市空间布局的城乡相间;产业结构的生态化趋势;城市人居环境的优化;植树造林的特殊爱好等方面,可以看出他的田园城市、循环经济、宜人环境、自然生态的思想和理念。他的生态观吸取了东西方生态观的合理内核,形成了自己独特的比较科学的内涵。

During the process of initiating the establishment of industry and planning the future development of Nantong in his time, Zhang Jian paid special attention to the harmony between man and nature. His ideas of an idyllic city with a circulating economy, pleasant surroundings and natural ecology can be seen in the aspects as follows： his city-alternating-with-country layout of Nantong, his arrangements of ecological trend of the industrial structure; his efforts in the optimization of citizens＇ living environment as well as his hobby of afforestation, etc. After absorbing valuable pith from oriental and occidental ecological outlook, he formed his peculiar comparatively scientific connotation in this regard.
