Confucianism and the Establishment of Common Values

对待中华传统道德,既要考察历史局限性,更要重视其跨越时空和超越偏见的历史普遍性。在对“仁义礼智信”赋予新的时代内涵基础上,作者初拟了五大共同价值观,并提出建构共同价值观需要立法和普及,并将培育未成年人的核心价值观作为一项文化发展战略。

When discussing Chinese traditional moralities, both historical limitations at different times and historical universalities, which exceed time, space and prejudice, should be examined and emphasized. Based on new connotations of Confucianism under modern context, five common values are proposed in the paper. Apart from that, legislation and popularization are needed in establishing common values and it should be viewed as a strategy of cultural development to impart core values to minor persons.
