论对赌博应严厉查禁而不能“抓大放小”

赌博活动在我国渐呈蔓延趋势,而且花样繁多,规模增大,严重扰乱了社会治安秩序,败坏了社会风气。在这种形势下,有人提出了“抓大放小”的所谓“禁赌新思维”。这种“禁赌新思维”实际上是对我国现行禁赌政策的曲解。要想有效遏制赌博活动发展蔓延势头,必须对群众性娱乐活动正面引导,对赌博活动严厉查禁。

Gambling is mushrooming in China with greater diversity and scale, which seriously disturbed soT cial order and ethos. Under this situation, someone proposed so-called ＂new thinking on banning gambling＂ with the idea of ＂administrating the major well while controlling the minor＂. This ＂new thinking＂, in fact, is a misinterpretation of our present policy on banning gambling. To effectively prevent the extension tendency of gambling, it is a must to correctly guide public entertainment activities and strictly ban gambling activities.
