New Ways to Explore the Firm's Boundary

企业边界是现代企业理论研究的重要课题之一。目前的主流观点是交易成本理论,但针对其基本假设和分析框架,近来资源基础观的支持者从一个很不相同的角度对企业边界进行了理论探讨。但无论是交易成本理论还是资源基础观,它们都是顾此失彼的,这就促进了一种综合观,即价值基础观的出现。不过就目前而言,该领域的实证研究的结论往往不尽一致。所以对企业边界的阐释还应作深入的探索。

How to define the firm＇s boundary is a basic thesis of the firm theory. This paper makes a comment based on the transaction cost theory, resource- based view, and synthetie view. Though the transaction cost theory, resource-based view study the boundary from different sides, they are supplementary in fact. On other side, a synthetic view comes into being because they both neglect each other, which based on the transaction cost theory and resource-based view. But the empirical researches have not confirm all the hypothesis, so theorists still have to make a deep probe in this theory.
