A new color-coating line was installed by Siemens VAI at JSC Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, Russia in the years 2003 and 2004. This project was one of a number of contracts awarded to VAI as part of modernization program initiated by Magnitogorsk in the late 1990s to improve their steel-production facilities and the quality of their products. The color-coating line is outfitted with the latest equipment and process-control systems to produce color-coated strip of the highest quality and standards. The first color-coated coil had been produced successfully within only 15.5 months following contract signature.
