PHARMACOEPIDEMIOLOGY-A NEW DEVELOPING FIELD RESULTING FROM THE COMBINATION OF THE FIELDS OF CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY AND EPIDEMIOLOGY

药物流行病学，一门研究药物在人群中的应用及效应的学科，近１０余年来正在迅速发展。本文介绍了药物流行病学的定义，与临床药理学及流行病学其他分支的异同，阐述了该学科发展的历史背景，发展的促成因素，学科目前的状况，学科在我国的发展以及学科发展的作用与意义。

Pharmacoepidemiology,the study of the use and the effects of drugs in large numbers of people has experienced a decade or so of rapid development and growth.The definition of the discipline,the differences from clinical pharmacology and other branches of epidemiology,the historical background of the growing of the field,the factors driving growth and development,the current status and accomplishments in China thus far,as well as the potential contributions of the subject are covered in this review.
