Between History and Reality-Adaptation strategies of the historical drama The Orphan of the Zhao's

历史题材尤其是改编之作的大量出现,是近年来包括话剧在内整个文艺创作的重要趋势,其中北京人民艺术剧院和国家话剧院同时改编的两出历史剧《赵氏孤儿》尤具代表性。以此为个案分析比较,不仅可以更好地认识这两出同名话剧在取材、主题、情节结构和人物性格等方面的不同处理,而且可以窥见近年来话剧改编理念偏重改编者主体感受的发展变化,从而有助于我们对历史题材创作热潮形成原因的理解。

The increasing popularity of historical subjects, especially the adapted ones, has become an important trend of development in recent years＇ literary creation, including drama. And the most representative of all should be the two versions of The Orphan of the Zhao＇s adapted respectively by Beijing People＇s Art Theatre and the Naitonal Theatre Company of Chi ha. A comparative study will give a good knowledge of the creative features of the two versions as well as the developing trend of drama revision in the past years. It is hoped that this study will help explain the reason why historical subjects should have become so popular in literary creation.
