Data mining techniques were widely used in many fields. The security of railway cars grouping was a very important aspect of the railway system. The technique of association rules in data mining was used in the accidents analysis in railway shunting operation to find out the relations between the causes of the accidents. The results of the analysis could be used by the administration to make an improvement, in order to improve the efficiency of productivity and lower the accident rates of the railway cars grouping.
