A Comparison between Chinese and Western Love Ethics in the Perspective of Cultural Philosophy

爱情是人类永恒的主题,中西方由于社会历史条件的不同,爱情伦理既有共同点,也有不同点。共同点表现为中西方人都赞美爱情,追求爱情,推崇爱情的忠贞不渝的品质。不同点体现为中西方人的爱情在社会和人生中的地位不一样;爱情的内涵有所不同;爱情的价值取向上有差异。

Love is a common topic of all the human beings. Nevertheless, the concepts of love ethics are different in China and the West due to the differences of socio-historical conditions, though there has been a common ground. The common ground lies in that both the Chinese and Westerners eulogize and pursue love and extol the virtue of being faithful to love while the uncommon ground is that the positions and implications of love are different, and the values of love are oriented differently.
