该文分析了中国大学的基本特征,认为中国现代意义的大学起步晚,发育先天不足,教育模式是多国教育模式的混合型,至今还未能形成稳定的教育传统和教育模式,中国大学的特色是“学校加社区”结构,具有办学机构和社区管理的双重属性。从此出发,文章探讨了我们需要构建什么样的大学精神和需要什么样的大学管理体制,指出以先进的办学理念、科学的制度规范、鲜明的传统特色作为评价大学文化建设水平的重要标准,正是中国大学现代化努力追求的目标。

The paper analyzes the main characteristics of Chinese colleges and universities,assuming that Chinese colleges and universities in the modern sense started much later than many other countries.Thus,featured by congenital deficiency and the mixed educational type of many other countries,they cannot form a stable traditional mode so far.The typical feature of Chinese university is the structure of 'campus plus community',so they are provided with the double attribute of management of education and community.This paper discusses the issues of construction of university spirit and managing system of Chinese colleges and universities.
