分析了我国城市广场设计存在的问题,即单一广场规模过大、空间设计缺乏人文关怀和设计尺度差、设计忽视与城市原有空间格局和形态联系、广场缺少特色和广场的位置不恰当等;针对这些问题,提出了城市广场设计的四项基本原则:满足城市功能和居民生活需要的实用性、在审美上不仅要美而且还要有较高的文化内涵、具有一定的生态效应和一定的防灾功能.旨在探索比较合理的城市广场建设思路.

The problems of designing urban square were analyzed, and they were mainly as follows： the dimension of one-track square was overlarge, the space design was lack of humanities love and poor in design measure; the design neglected to relate with original urban space pattern and shape; it was also short of distinct feature and not significant place, and so on. The paper also put forward the four basic principles of urban square design. They have comprehensive practicability in order to satisfy the requirement of city function and residential livelihood. They are beautiful and contain higher cultural connotation-aesthetic, and they also have certain ecology effect and one of the four basic principles is one side in city secure installation, having the function to prevent calamity. All of these can be projecting city characteristics,in order that a rational, quantitative and effective method in city construction has been found.
