The Book of Songs and the Origin of Shenxian

《诗经》中具有神仙特点的诸多因素———不仅萌发着向往神仙的思想,更有意味的是《诗》中已经出现了“神”字与“仙”字,“仙”正慢慢地向“神”靠近,而且,神仙形象已经可见。这表明神仙在《诗经》的时代已经萌芽和开始形成,并且成为后来神话形成的基础和源泉。

In The Book of Songs, there many factors carting the characters of Shen Xian. This book reflects a thought of yearning for being a Shenxian, and the most meaning fully, both the words Shen and Xian appear in this book with Xian earring the same mean with Shen. What＇s more, the image of ShenXian are clear. All of these features indicate that the ideaabout Shenxian has originated and began to exist. The Book of Songs, therefore, becomes the basis and source of the later mythology.
