Representation of the History of American Chinese Individuals and Families——Discussion of the Features of the Structural Type of Fae Myenne Ng's Bone

美国华裔作家伍慧明的《骨》讲述了旧金山一个普通华裔家庭梁家的故事。《骨》一书以梁家二女儿安娜的自杀为中心事件,运用点辐射的文本结构,由此而产生的骨架意象与书中“骨”的寓意相对应,从而有力地再现了美国华裔个人、家族和族裔的历史。

Fae Myenne Ng＇s Bone is a story about an ordinary Chinese American Leong family. Focusing on the central event of the novel, namely, the middle daughter Ona＇s suicide, it employs the point radiation structural type, thus setting up the image of bones, which corresponds with the implication of the novel. Therefore, it effectively represents the bitter history of Chinese American individuals, their family as well as the whole Chinese American minority.
