Three Issues in Studies on A Journey to the West

This paper investigates into three pieces of new materials related to the studies on A Journey to the West. According to the first piece, examination of the novelist Wu Cheng＇en＇s skull can help us to determine his date of birth. The second one, a documented description of the novel found in Korea, can help us to ascertain the name of the novelist. And the third material, a hand-written copy of A Journey to the West kept by a Japanese scholar, is of special significance for the academia, for it is quite different from the common 100-chapter edition, and may have a different original text.
