浅析分词的“依着”与“悬垂”在英语中的应用

On the application of the attachment and dangling of participle to English

英语语法中谈到非谓语动词中的分词做状语,主要强调按照依着法则使句子表达清晰,一般认为“悬垂”是错误的。文章根据现代语法理论,从几个角度分析了分词“悬垂”的可接受性问题,并认为它正是英语语言表达中对依着法则的补充。

According to the traditional English grammar, attachment rule is stressed, which makes the sentences clear and perfect. So dangling participle is regarded as an error. Based on the modern English theory on grammar, this paper analyzes the acceptances of dangling participle from several aspects. The author believes dangling participle is a supplement for the attachment rule in English expression.
