本教学单元包括数学建模的简述、关于可口可乐饮料罐的形状的例子、习题、考题、研究课题以及阅读材料。也有怎样组织教学的建议。教师可以运用本教学单元在微积分教学中有机地融入数学建模的思想和方法。

This module includes a brief introduction to mathematical modeling; an example on the shape of a Coca Cola can, exercises, exam problems, teamwork project, and reading materials. Comments on how to organize and teach this module are also given. This module can be used by teachers for penetrating ideas and methods of mathematical modeling through into the teaching of calculus.
