With the bankruptcy of the old colonialism, France keeps adjusting its foreignpolicy towards Africa in order to retain its traditional interests in Africa. It has changed from the rico-colonialism of de Gaulle to" interference polityin Africa" of Mitterrand and at last to Chirac' s "non-interference policy" , which is a complicated and long process. The Republic of Cote d'Ivoire Incident in November, 2004 has aroused the concern of international co.unity again. It has also posed a challenge for French present foreign policy toward Africa.
