Concentrations of T 3,T 4 and TSH in serum and cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) in 65 patients with acute cerebrovascular disease were determined.T 3 and T 4 in serum and CSF were significantly lower in the group of cerebral hemorrhage and the group of cerebral infarction than in the control group, while TSH was significantly higher in the former two groups than in the latterone.T 3 and T 4 were significantly lower in the group of cerebral hemorrhage than in the group of cerebral infarction, while TSH was higher in the former two groups than in the latter one.The severity of the disease was significantly correlated with the changes of thyroid hormones( P <0.05).The levels of thyroid hormones before and after treatments were obviously different;T 3 and T 4,especially T 3,were markedly increased after treatments( P <0.01).The mechanism and the clinical significance of the changes were discussed.
