浅论《十七史商榷》中的“议论”、“褒贬”

Comment and appraisment" for the Discussion of Seventeen Ancient Historial Work

《十七史商榷序》明确反对对史书的“议论褒贬”,但《十七史商榷》对典制史事的议论褒贬不在少数,二者并不矛盾。王鸣盛反对的是那种热衷于评论、不辨史实真伪的“议论褒贬”。其主旨是突出《十七史商榷》考据成就,同时也体现了乾嘉时代的“求实”精神。

Through analysing Wang Ming-Sheng＇s view of ＂comment and appraisment＂ and some examples in Discussion of the Seventeen Ancient Historial Work, this author reaches a conclusion that Wang Ming- Sheng made no difficulty for historian comment and appraisment; but he was against comment and appraisment coming from those who had read Seventeen Ancient Historial Work but didn＇t examine and correct mistakes. The purpose is to highlight textual research achievements of the Discussion of Seveuteen Ancient Nistorical Work and also embody the practical spirit of the time.
