根据翻译理论,采用英语虚词在规则句和疑难句中的用法,通过数实例句的比较分析,说明了虚词在句子翻译(英译汉)中的次要和决定作用。两种作用可使句意产生不同或者完全相反的效果。以示教师在翻译教学中注意此翻译特点,更加准确地做好翻译教学。

By using numerous examples of how the English form words are used in the ordinary, regular sentences and the complex sentences as well, the paper illustrated the ideas of their major and minor functions in the sentence translation （from English into Chinese）, which sometimes determine the meaning of the sentences partly or on the whole. From the point view it can make teachers aware of the importance of exactly defining the meaning of form words in complex sentences and conduct excellent translation teaching.
