办学特色是高校提高核心竞争力的基本条件,是实现学校跨越式发展的必然选择。研究办学特色问题不仅有利于推动我国高校的改革,而且有利于提高高校办学质量和水平,促进高校的个性化发展。从分析办学特色的内涵、主要内容及形成的先决条件着手,论述了华北煤炭医学院办出特色的理念和改革策略。
