The article studies the British educationist Livingstone＇s practice and ideas on university education. In the first half of 20th century, Livingstone was not only a university educator, but also developed his own ideas on university education. This paper explores his college education practice and ideas, and points out that these ideas are not only representatives of western tradition, but influential in the development of modern western education.
