The errors in contemporary inquiry instruction in senior middle schools mainly include substitution, formalization,mechanization and isolation of inquiry. The countermeasures out of the errors mainly include： to understand inquiry instruction further;to transform the role of teachers actually; to meticulously design inquiry instruction; and to actively absorb foreign research and practice on inquiry instruction.
