In the process of developing virtual instrument, some collected data from multi-path need to be stored in Excel table. LabVIEW is a convenient and flexible development environment for virtual instrument, while DDE is a message-based protocol in Windows operational system. The data communication between LabVIEW and Excel is well fulfilled by using DDE. The DDE function is described by certain examples, it is said that data exchanging between LabVIEW and Excel is convenient, fast and easy to be fulfilled. The practice shows that DDE is an efficient way to enhance LabVIEW integrated function.
