张謇自开商埠的原因及作用

鉴于对国际形势的清醒认识,同时为了维护利权、杜绝觊觎以及对商埠作用的重视,张謇积极支持自开商埠。他共筹设了20多个商埠,还亲自担任吴淞商埠督办,这些商埠明显带有张謇的个人色彩。张謇的活动,一定程度上促进了这些地区区域经济的发展,并奠定了现代化的基础。

Zhang Jian activitely favored non -treaty ports,because he awoke to the international situation ,wanted to uphold economic rights and prevented the covetousness . At the same time , he put an importance to the function of ports. Zhang jian did not only designed more than 20 ports but also took charge of Wusong port by himself. Obviously these non - treaty ports were filled with his personal style. Zhang Jian ＇action, to some degree, promoted the development of regional economies and laid the groundwork for modernization of these districts.
