A Few Reflections on Moral Responsibility of Literature and Literary Criticism

结合对20世纪西方文论热以及消退后的反思,本文联系我国文学创作和外国文学教学与研究中对道德和道德承载方面的含混认识发表了一些看法,并试图梳理西方道德哲学和美学之间的内在关联。

This critical essay is written as a reflection on the lack of ethical/moral responsibilities in literature and literary criticism in the pluralistic practices of the second half of the 20th century. In this essay, the author also offers a survey of the development of the western moral philosophy, trying to prove that ethics is closely related to the western aesthetic thought and it is wrong to take literary works with moral considerations simply as didactic preachings.
