The Sociabilites between ZHANG Yu-zhao and FANG Zong-cheng

张裕钊与方宗诚同属桐城派后期重要作家,均得桐城家法之真传。二人虽然在性格上有较大的不同,文学观念上也有显然的差异,但并不因此影响他们之间的君子之交。近年来一些研究张裕钊的学者,在关涉二人之交游时每每舛误迭出,现据有关文献,对二人一生的交游情况作一粗略梳理,从中亦可见出先贤交游之风范。

Both Zhang Yu-zhao and FANG Zong-cheng were from Tongcheng school and endowed with the essence of this school, Though they wcrc obvioushy distinctly both in character and literary views, they wcrc frcc from the negative influence of them upon their friendly converse. Recent scholars of ZHANG Yu-zhao have made mistakes hcrc and there when they wcrc dealing with the friendships between them. I try to ravel things involving their friend-makings based on the relevant literature to reveal the codes of these two sages.
