Hong Xiuquan's Efforts to Reconstruct Monarchical Power after the Tianjing Incident

天京事变后,试图重建君主权力的洪秀全,虽然在李秀成等的帮助下建立起一个运行效果良好的、以掌率会议嫁接五军主将集体为内容的权力结构,但他仍然煞费苦心地构建以他的宗族为核心的上帝家庭,使之凌驾于本来行之有效的权力结构之上,试图以此支配以李秀成为首的地方实力派。洪秀全狭窄的气量促使他始终把目光局限在个人权力的张扬这一有限目标上。为了这个有限目标的实现,他忽略了维护体制内各要素动态平衡的重要性。

Although there was already a perfect power structure established with the help of Li Xiucheng which was functioning smoothly, Hong Xiuquan still endeavored to build a new God-Family with his clan at the center, which should override the current structure, in order to control local nobles such as Li Xiucheng. His narrow mind only considered his own power while ignoring the importance of maintaining a dynamic balance of power.
