通过对“图底关系”理论的初步介绍,对传统城市与现代城市空间的对比分析,探寻“图底关系”理论的基本特征。同时指出在现代城市设计理论与实践活动中,对“图底关系”的误解与误用的现实,最后,结合“图底关系”理论的基本特征和实际案例,对“图底关系”理论在现代城市设计中的适应性问题进行了初步探讨。

In this paper, the basic feature of the theory of ＂figure - ground relation＂ is sought through preliminary introduction of the theory and contrastive analysis on spaces of traditional cities and current cities. At the same time, the authors point out the reality of misapprehension and misapplication of ＂figure - ground relation＂ to the theory and practice of current urban design. In conclusion, the adaptability of the theory of ＂figure- ground relation＂ to current urban design is preliminarily discussed by combining the basic feature of the theory with concrete cases.
