Through a brief introduction tO the imposed women＇s images as angels or monsters in the patriarchal society, the essay makes a critical analysis of the woman＇s image in Keats＇s poem ＂La Belle Dame Sans Mercy＂ and holds that the image is marginalized to be an ＂otherness＂ with a lost identity and muted speech, which serves to reflect meffs ideals and thus further sheds light on the sexual discrimination in the patriarchal society.
