This paper introduces the structural characteristics of the hand-driven flat knitting machine, analyzes the motion and stress state of needles in the cam tracks and tricks, and the action force between the cam and needle as well. According to the analysis, the design requirements on the structure and cam track are put forward. Furthermore, this paper presents the methods for controlling the collision between the needles and cams, and the needle control under the state of being free.
