The Evolution of Traditional Family Providing for the Aged in China: the Transformation Result of the Culture and Ethic Concepts

中国家庭养老功能的变化从现象上看是由于家庭构成的变化导致了养老功能的变化,而本质原因是文化伦理观念转变导致的家庭养老的协调费用变化。针对这种变化,从历史发展和中西比较两个角度进行文化伦理分析。部分养老职能虽然已从家庭组织中分离出来,但家庭作为养老职能的最主要承担者的作用并未降低,在某些方面还有所加强。家庭养老有着很高的财政贡献度、传统伦理支持度和社会和谐贡献度。

The paper points out that the changes of family structure lead to the changes of function of providing for the aged, but it is the phenomenon. The essence is that the changes of transaction cost for aged result from the changes of culture and ethic concepts. In accordance with these changes, the paper conducts the analysis of culture and ethic from the historical development as well as comparison with China and the west. Although the part of family providing for aged function is separated from family organization, the family which plays the importance role in this area is still the chief to offer and strengthened in some parts. The action of family providing for aged has the high level of finance contribution, traditional ethic support and social harmonious contribution.
